Spring is here!
A patch of grape hyacinth in our garden is attracting all sorts of insects at the moment. Thank goodness the macro season has started!

D70 180mm Macro lens, f8 1/320th ISO 200. Multiple reflectors, natural light.

I think this is one of those occasions where a more central image is OK, the dead space to the right detracts slightly for me, otherwise great technique and sharpness

I think Mike might be right, but it's good technique and a fine image whichever composition you prefer.

Hi Clive

I like the simplicity of this, and the complementary colours are excellent (and getting red, green and blue together). I think that this would be great in a mag - lots of space on the right for text!)

Cheers

Hi,
I wasn't too sure of the crop either but I have plenty of space on the original to experiment with. The ladybird was moving around a lot, but in this shot I thought it looked like he needed room on the right to 'fly into'.

Would perhaps have veered towards a more central composition myself, but the colour combinations are marvellous, and the ladybird is a lovely finishing touch. Love it!
