The dogwoods in the western end of the Boston Mountains are simply EXPLODING right now! I've never seen to many in bloom at the same time anywhere, plus there are lots of redbuds blomming right along with them. This end of the forest is far more advanced then the Buffalo River area is, although not for long. Here is a quick shot of a typical scene along the road between White Rock Mountain and Dockery Gap this morning. There are seven or eight dogwoods in this single frame. By the way, I'm testing a new camera rig, and the native screen file size of this image is just over six by eight FEET! You should see the detail - it is almost a crime to reduce it for web display...
Looks like quite a display of Spring foliage. Hope we get some rain to kick in phase two of Spring, waterfall season!
By the way, is that a Hasselblad in your camera bag?
Actually Hasseys are made in Japan now by Fuji and are not nearly as good as they used to be - the backs, the camera, or the lenses...It's a Phase One P-45.

Wow - just out of curiosity, would you mind posting a 100% section of some portion of this image (a tiny portion, to be sure) - just to see how much is lost in the reduction!
OK, here is a very small crop from the lower right corner of the image - unsharpened, saved as a jpg 6, with no processing, not even local contrast enhancement, just like it came out of the camera. And the size is about like a 1.4mp camera (out of the 39mp image). While I was looking around at this image (and by the way the focus was well in front of this part of the image), I found a can hiding way back there in the rocks and leaves - I think it is a Fresca can or something like that. Now try to find this tiny spot in the original fullframe image...

The resolution is just simply astonishing. I can tell that the full-sized version is in the lower right (I think the can is represented by a single pixel). The detail really is quite amazing! Thanks for sharing that!

That's amazing resolution. If you consider all the factors that could conspire against a sharp image in a setting like this, that is truly amazing! I only wish my brain had resolving power like this!
