This one I am quite unsure about. I really like Jackson Falls as a subject, but really couldn't get a good perspective on them this morning IMO.
I want to like the image, and spend a good deal of time composing, and subsequently cropping and working, but something about this comp doesn't sit right with me, and I'm wondering your thoughts...
I like the photo. The only thing I don't like is the orange from the sun in the tree in the upper right hand corner. It distracts from the rest of the photo.

Jim...
I can understand what you mean, but can't put my thumb on the composition either. I like the way the snow on the banks frames the falls. Maybe lowering the camera position just a little?
I've looked at this for a while and I like the image but you are right it does not seem to reach out and grab me quite like your shot with the fog. Maybe this just has too many good subjects in it to grab you and make your eye follow and focus. The falls could stand alone, the snow covered trees could stand alone, and the clouds could be a secondary for either the falls or the trees. Photographers much smarter than me have always said simplify and focus for landscapes and if they are right maybe there is too much of a good thing?
That is my two cents worth (now worth about $.003 due to inflation)!

Did you try B&W, sometimes it changes the way you see it. Also if your like me you sometimes feel everyones work is better than your own and then find out they feel the same.
