Painted Hills, Tuesday. I crossed into the fenced portion below the hills (this is permitted so long as you don't tread on any exposed hills) as the light was rapidly changing amidst very stormy skies. Once I located this perspective and took note of the lighting I waited for about an hour and a half before this scene unfolded, at about 4pm. There was also an incredible sunset, but for me, none of those images were able to capture magic like this.

Exceptional. This is one of those shots that causes me to put my dinner to the side and just stare for awhile. Obvoiusly the hill against the foreboding sky is what initially grabs my attention, but after more staring, the foreground bushes are what really put this image over the top.

Marc,
I agree with what David said. You had some pretty good light on the hills. The foreground IMHO is spaced and placed perfectly. This is right up there with the best i've seen from here.

Sometimes I really wish I could hate you Mark! JUST KIDDING! This is easily one of the sweetest shots I've seen from PH. Nicely done!
This is a really fantastic image. The sky adds a tremendous amount of interest IMHO, and of course the composition with the foreground elements is great. I think there are a few other comps in this scene that would work well too, hopefully you got a chance to work it a bit in that great light. Again, really nice eye.

Exceptional capture. The foreground light on the sage makes this happen. One of your better shots Marc. Nice restraint.

Wow! This is probably the best image I've ever seen from John Day Painted Hills. The foreground brush and the way it is lit by the sun makes this a fantastic landscape shot!
