I really like how this turned out, but I'm also disappointed. I took a shot with the rocks in the lower left and then moved them to the upper right for this shot. Unfortunately, I normally use autofocus because of my astigmatism. but for this I used manual focus because I was having trouble getting the AF to work (not sure why) Anyway I forgot that I had manually focused the original comp. When I recomposed, I forgot to refocus, so the rocks aren't quite as sharp as they could be.

When I go back, I'm going to make a point of getting this shot at sunset, but I probably won't get these colors in the water at sunset.

OOPS! forgot to mention, this was taken just outside of Crescent City.

Unfortunately this one just isn't working for me, Curtis. I do get a sense of loneliness, but for me there is a lack of any aesthetic, intriguing, dramatic or dynamic subject matter to hold on to. Sorry no one else is commenting.

Crop it long and thin, Curtis. It's a cool graphic and grab shot.

thanks for the feedback guys. As for the lack of comments, no biggie. I don't comment much myself so I don't get too upset when my own shots don't get bombarded with critiques

Curtis,
I like the second version. It's a simple shot and I think it works.

I like the 2nd shot too, Curtis. Great color in the water. Sometimes less is more. Cliche but true.

This is a great color and mood shot, Curtis. It's not a make or break piece of art but it certainly doesn't suck.
