Here's one I caught at the local glade. Toads like this seem to know they taste bad and are willing to pose tall, proud, and unafraid for you. The little spring peepers are much more bashful however. They hunker down in a clump of grass or under a leaf and hide. Once you find them and start to set up the tripod, aim the camera, get the flash cord untangled and such they like to sneak off and hide. This could have something to do with the 3 snakes my wife & I saw when we tried this last week. Snakes must look at them as nice tasty morsels. Maybe I can get one of them next time.

Photo data: Canon 400d, Sigma 70-300 lens @190mm, 1/40 sec @F11, Sigma flash on a leash, probably 1/16 power,

Thanks for looking,
Bruce

Bruce - maybe it's me (I'm behind a VPN firewall), but I'm not seeing the image.

Sorry guys, I did the same thing last time. If I forget to log out of pbase.com before I post here viewing seems to be erratic. I thought if i hit the edit button here I could delete and repost the link but I can't see how to do that. :frown:

Gotta remember that.

Now I've got it Bruce ... nice catch! Caught this one at just the right moment proudly displaying. I particularly like the water tension rings eminating from the subject.

You have a wide contrast range here which is good but I might suggest cloning out the white spot on his left foreleg, draws my eye some. Thanks for posting!
