Very nice, love the eye contact, and the composition with the bird off-set,which is handy for getting all that tail in the frame, often tricky I find in sometimes.
The white collar looks a little on the blown side but perhaps that's just down to the processing.
A fine portrait.

Hi Nick,

A nice portrait with a good comp, and colours (agree with Justin re the white's). It may be worth cloning out what looks like to me, a piece of bread just in front of him.

Regards

Hi Nick,
A pleasant pheasant, as said a bit hot on the collar but nice comp.

Composition works fine here.
I'd be looking for a cleaner background or if that wasn't possible I'd try to avoid stocks sticking out of his head.

Whites are never easy to get right with them, esp when the deeper areas in the chest are in shade. This is where good light can make all the difference.
