Photographs of the South
I continue to look for photographs of Southern Georgia, of which I am a native. Our small part of the Great Smokey Mountains are most often photographed, and lately I have seen a few of our coastal areas, but none of the old plantations, beautiful state parks, nor of the beautiful rural scenery which abound. Just wondering if there are any other photographers from this area. My web site features old homeplaces, donkeys, rural ponds, and even an irrigation pond which is truly beautiful in the fall and spring. This rural, rustic cabin remind us of a yesterday when times were not as easy as they are now. Just talking. What about some feedback on this subject. Thanks, kinda new to the art, but love it, as well as enjoy your comments.

Hey Jackie, I'm new to NPN and don't have any posted pictures here yet, but I live on the north side of Atlanta. I love pictures of old farms, plantations and such. I would love to just drive around south GA one day and find old barns and such to shoot.

I saw in another post that you would be at Stone Mountain in June. If I was going to be in town I would stop by and introduce myself. However, that weekend my wife and I will be in Charleston, SC celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary.

Thanks for the note Gary, One has to pretty much know the rural road in So. Ga. now to find the old homeplaces, barns and such as many are falling down and are not photographic material. I did manage to accumulate quite a few tho before nature took it course. I do have one photograph of a tobacco barn constructed out of logs and chinked. I was new in photography my self at that time and could hav done a better job photographng if I knew what I know now. I regret this but you know, life goes on. Hope you and your wife have a great trip although a Stone Mountain meeting would have been nice. :wavey:

I think it's a great project idea!
