Really had a great time shooting in the park (or is it "Park"?) this week. Yesterday morning was a fitting end to my stay. Here are a few from the exciting, ever-changing conditions. Like Longs Peak...

Here's the whole series of shots I've worked on so far:

I'll add a few more as I get time.

Nice, Todd. You make me want to start living in my truck, too!

I really enjoyed your set. That first one of Longs Peak wrapped in clouds is SUPER! :toast:
Looks like a wonderful day for a hike up the Keyhole route.

What a collection! The recent snow adds a wealth of character to all of them, especially the ones with trees in the foreground. Driving to work on Friday, I was shooting the Flatirons thinking it would be a great day to play hooky and go shooting. Glad to see you made the most of the conditions. My favorite is the one of Longs at the very bottom right of the linked page. Normally, that'd would be a little too much greenery in the foreground for my tastes, but the floc on the trees makes it sing; the clouds put it over the top.

This one is also right up there. Compelling work my friend!

Super portfolio, I especially liked, make that loved, the 1st shot of Longs with the clouds and another one later in the series that was similar but with a wider view. Fresh snow is any mountain's best friend.

Todd,

Great shots!!! I liked the Longs-alpenglow-treeframe-01H.jpg shot the best. :jump: The new snow, fog and color are an amazing combo!

With all the snow it is hard to tell which vantage point you took this. Was it the Twin Sisters trail, Moraine Park or some other mysterious lookout?

Thanks for sharing. Did you get a chance to see the lakes? I am just curious if they are still frozen for the most part. The last shot I saw was a partially melted Dream Lake before all this new snow.

Hey Derek, most of these were taken along Trail Ridge Rd. a little bit below Deer Ridge Junction, although there are a couple taken from Many Parks Curve. Here's a shot of Sprague Lake from Thursday evening. It's still probably 40-50% ice, but at least it's heading in the right direction. I hiked up to Alberta Falls Thursday expecting to see it flowing from the recent spate of warm weather, but it was still buried under tons of snow. There was a basketball-sized hole in the snow/ice where you could see water flowing, but it wasn't very much. It's still winter up there, without as much snowmelt going on as I'd expected. With the cold weather of the last several days up there, I wonder if the Dream Lake outlet refroze.

WOW... solid. I like the Chief's Head a lot, and especially the Many Parks Curve... very nice!
