Can anyone recommend a good place to send a Canon lens for repair? The hood on my 400 5.6L has jammed open after it took a knock.

I'm in Oxford so guess it will be a via post job.

Cheers

Hi Gavin,

Colchester camera repairs are very good, they are my local repair centre. My bodies go there for servicing, although as far as I am aware they send lenses of to canon anyway, so might be ebst just to send it straight off there. ( I think it is in Elstree, Middlesex)

HTH

I've used Lehmann's and Fixation on a few occasions and have always found both companies very good indeed, helpful, very quick turnaround, profesional and efficient.

I`ve used Lehmann`s on three occasions. First two times 20D was repaired under warranty with no problems. Just had to use them again for an expensive £200 shutter replacement. The repair was unsatisfactory, and I had to return the camera so they could do it properly. Their attitude was none-too-helpful, and they have yet to refund my postage which I was promised they would. I might try Fixation next time!

Thanks for the replies. I emailed Lehmann's and heard nothing back so will give Fixation a call next weeks.
