Garibaldi Public Fishing Pier
I liked the color and mood if this scene. F-4/Velvia no other data

Larry, great capture of a superb atmospheric event. The color, detail and exposure in the clouds is great. I also like the silohuette of the bird. I think this image would have been enhanced with a higher perspective (if possible) to separate the pier from the background and to possibly create some interesting composition lines. A graduated filter might also have allowed you to bring out some texture in the foreground rocks.

Very nice image, Larry. A GND would definitely have helped balance the exposure as Sean points out, but in this particular case I would prefer the blacks to keep the emphasis on the sky. The pier is a strong feature that adds some depth that would otherwise be missing.

The comp is great but I can't comment on the color due to an aging monitor here at work.

That seagul flew into the perfect spot at the perfect time for this shot. I can't comment on color for the same reason as Mark, but I like the comp, and the light. There are two specs above the pier just left of center. I'm sure they're birds, but they look more like dust bunnies... I'd consider cloning those out.

Yes.... They are birds and do look distracting. I should've cloned them. As for want of a higher perspective the low light forced me to use the nearest rock for a tripod since I was in my work rig an didn't used to carry one.... I do now. (Camera World $24.99 but usable, and the boss thinks it's some kind of test instrument for repairing heat pumps!)
