Beach sunrise
I'm not too sure about this one. I finally have some time to process some images from the past few weeks and this one is 50/50 for me.

1) No clouds and 2) in a rush before the sun came up which didn't allow enough time to really scout out a good location.

I think the comp is really good, but it needs clouds IMO.

Richard, I really like this. My favorite part is the way the highlights just slightly show on the little ripples of sand. I think the sky is really secondary in my mind so I don't mind the lack of clouds. Great work!

This is very strong graphically, but for some reason it's not really resonating with me.

Looking it over, I wonder if it were cropped approx. square if that would help. Cropping with paper on my monitor, I came in 1/2" on the right, and just to right side of the "m" in your .com and I thought it looked better. Just a thought...

I like Bill's version and I had also tried visually cropping. I guess I am the dark horse in that no clouds-doesn't bother me with so much texture in the FG.

yeah, the crop square idea is killer. I'd lose the left 1/3 though. . .

Thanks guys,

Bill's square crop idea is right on. It might have saved this one from the recycle bin.

I think this is good. Nice sand textures and I like how the S shape leads to the sun. You don't need clouds to have a good image. I wouldn't have known how little time you had w/o you mentioning it.
