Will be doing a little traveling around the end of the month, and would like some recommendation of great locations , to do some evening panoramic shots of downtown Portland. Thanks in advance for the input, as I dont know the city real well.
Thanks!!

Some people reccommend behind OMSI although my absolute favorite are the benches at the end of SE Main St. Also, on the bike pedestrian ramp on the east side of the Steel Bridge can give some good perspectives.

Yes, by OMSI and north along the Eastside Esplande. Here's a shot from the eastside esplande.

Also,
The rose gardens in Washington park. This is another classic coffee table book location with Hood in background. Pittock mansion looking east is another Portland down town sunset with Mt. Hood.

CITY Magazine has announced its new One City, Many Destinations contest--the grand prize winner gets their photo on the cover of its upcoming Fall '07 Travel Issue.

The idea is to submit an image that "best captures the essence of a city." Photographers may submit as many digital images as they like, as long as each one is from a different city--and any photographer from anywhere can submit.

Deadline for entries is June 30, 2007.

The Grand Prize package is valued at $10,000 and includes a camera and an all-inclusive vacation package. Sixteen finalists will also win cameras and other prizes, and their photographs will be featured in a special travel portfolio in the issue.
