Finally getting time to process images from our recent trip to Escalante. This is one from our hike along Calf Creek on the way to the lower falls. Every time we walked 10 feet, another slightly different view unfolded, with different textures and colors. The weather was changing frequently, alternating sun and rain. Subtle differences in lighting made more dramatic difference in the mood of the various scenes. I made 3 or 4 dozen compositions, and there will probably be way too many variations posted on my site when I'm done, but choosing a favorite is difficult.
This one stood out amongst the many and is probably one of my favorites due to the muted and varied colors, and enough layering in the scene to lend structure to the composition.

Well done. It has a nice painterly look and feel to it.

I like it! I've become more and more appreciative of photos showing the intimate beauty that many of us might tend to pass by. Not too chaotic and not to structured but just right by my eye.
WOW! I love this image for the painterly, layered, tapestry feel. Awsome!

I like this one, Rick! Great variety of colors and layered depth. I'm like Roger. I would probably have walked past this scene but I'm starting to see them more often now. Guess there's still room to grow.

Wish I had a good constructive critisism. Nice!

I really love the left to right wave-like flow of the foliage, the tremendous variety of grasses/bushes, and the pastel shades.
Very well seen!
