That was the most snow I had seen in the Linville area. I drove up 105 from the Lake James side and at the Short Off pull off it turned into the winter wonderland. I came back down via 181 and wished I taken 105 instead! 181 until Jonas Ridge Area was ice
Well here is the first shot-taken of the Linville River/Gorge from Wiseman's view. For me exposure was daunting with the bright spring colors down low & the snow against the dark shadows of the unlit Gorge. Tell me what you think.
This is an interesting scene, Leann. The exposure, as you say, looks daunting but you handled it well. I can see what you were aiming for here - contrast between the highlighted and shadowed areas with the curve of the river. Like I said, It's interesting and I looked at this for a while, but I'm really having trouble connecting with it.

Thank you for responding!
Again the print is alot better in that the details suck you in and the color looks more natural. I always try this spot because of the swoop of color and different contrast from one side of the Linville River to the other at this spot. The way the light falls on one side of the gorge but not the other lights & up the tree lines. As you mention about connecting to it -that falls on me remembering the whole view from "a ledge"
