Members of the Finger Lakes Photographers' Forum (upstate NY) will begin friendly photography outings in May. It is my hope that outings will continue on a monthly basis through November. Anyone interested in attending an outing may do so by posting to the appropriate thread in the "Organize a Photo Outing" portion of the message board. We have had many successful outings in the past and many friends have been made. We hope you will join us!

Thanks for the invitation. I grew up in upstate NY. It has beautiful landscapes, farms, barns, lakes and waterfalls. I would love to join you on at least one of your monthly field trips. Please keep me informed as to when and where and I will try to catch at least one.

Gotta love the Finger Lakes. I'm fortunate to live in such a pretty area with lots of great things to shoot. Whereabouts did you live and where are you located now?

Are these outings limited to members of Fingerlakes Photographers, or can anyone join in? I might be interested in attending this May 12 outing, but would like some further information. I live near the Fonda Speedway. Thanks,

Hi Linda. Sorry for not posting sooner. Anyone is welcome to join us. It's not a real formal thing. I basically just pick a date and I/we pick a place and we go shoot. Nothing fancy. I started the forum a few years ago to help in organizing outings. It's so much more fun to go out with other photogs than to go alone. (for me, anyway) I've met a lot of new people since we've started.
So anyway, I was thinking we'd start at the Cornell Plantations since there should be some flowers out. We usually stay until everyone's ready to move on. We have no real schedule to follow. Afterwards I thought we could walk around Beebe Lake if everyone wants to and then maybe head to Six Mile Creek. I wanted to pick some different places this time since we've all done the falls so many times.
If you post your intentions on the forum (see link in my first post) that would be a great help. I've been "advertising" on 3-4 forums and with several local groups and it's just too many to keep track of. The forum will help consolidate things and it will be easier to see who's planning to attend.
