walking to the hide at Clot de Gaveny, there is lots of litter from an adjacent housing development and passing a scrubby bush I thought I saw a polythene bag half way up it, however some spotless starlings landed nearby so I gave the bush a quick scan for Sardinian warblers that were scratching away and then nearly dropped my binoculars.......
Great Grey Shrike, Iberian ssp pretending to be a plastic bag, it later moved to the more tradional bush top!
Olympus E-1, Nikon 300mm F2.8 AIS manual focus, olympus 1.4 tc, iso 400, 1/800s at F4, -1 ev, tripod AS B1 and W. Sidekick, exposure recovered in PS, cropped a fair bit and noise ninja to remove the worst of the Oly sensor noise - a reasonable record shot of a bird that I had previously only ever seen flying away from me!
Hi Mike,
Good record shot. I had a similar experience with a Red Backed variety on a yorkshire moor, you just can't believe what you're seeing, amazing occurance, still then there was the Ospreys.....
