ESS is just overflowing with great images lately. When I was pulling up images yesterday, it seemed like every one was just superb. The talent seems to be at an all time high over there. I would hate to have to be the person who has to pick just one for the EP's. Tough job!!!!

Tough, but a great joy.

Isn't that the truth...it really sets the bar high and motivates us! :toast:

No wonder there are three moderators in the ESS gallery. It makes being selected for the EP that much more prestigious.

I beg to differ - it's probably the best "job" on NPN, and I'm very grateful (to everyone who posts on ESS) for having it.

I agree with you Bill, the photography here is quite outstanding. Since I started looking at this site about 6 months ago, I've noticed the quality of my own work has improved significantly. It's not from a competitive angle, but from an inspired one. Sometimes knowing something is possible is enough for me to try it myself. I've looked at a lot of published books over the years and I have been unimpressed with most of them. The average quality of the photography of many posters here is much higher than what I have seen published. I think we have a number of members that are going to have a lasting impact on nature photography. I guess that means more of you should start publishing, or at least getting into Barnes & Noble and Borders if possible (where I've looked)!

I agree, the overall quality of the work is better than anywhere I've ever come across on the net, bar none. Thanks to all of those who make such a resource possible! :toast:

Guy, it might be the "best" job, but undoubtedly it is also the "toughest"! We all owe a large debt of gratitude to you, Michael, and Dan for your active participation and support.
