I think most of us have been here. We love this place...
I woke up this morning with the rain pouring down and my heart pounding thinking that my day was gonna be ruined....
as I got to the parking lot the rain stopped, and the overcast skies created nice filtered light. I went in and played around for a while and as I got back to the car the rain came, and it came hard......
I got lucky.....and I think this this shot gives a good idea of how awesome Wahclella Falls really is!!!
Please comment and critique this as I will be working this area more in the near future as the wildflowers star to bloom!!!
Its hard to take a bad picture there. You've got me wishing I did more landscape comps when I was down there last weekend.

Here is a keeper. Not sure that I like the framing though with the white border inside the black. Consider going the other way around. This is also another example of when a mid-range bump may improve things. When you consider that most Prints are viewed in subdued light it rarely hurts to lighten them up a bit.
Wonderful image. Bryan: I've taken bad pictures there, if you wish I can show you how. See the mossy cliffs on the right? The ferns and other vegetation on those cliffs never ever seems to sit entirely still.....

This is Wahclella Falls on Tanner Creek in the Columbia Gorge. I love this view, too -- I first got obsessed with it in the mid-80s when Ron Cronin published a GORGEOUS poster of this scene, with a beautiful matt/glossy texture of "She Who Watches" on the poster border. I think Ron pioneered this view, since he captured his image before the bridge was in place. The absence of the bridge makes his print that much better!
This is really nice, Darren - I like the "rusty green" tones that you've captured. It perfectly conveys the feel of the Gorge in late winter. I spent some time photographing this last October, when the bigleaf maples were just turning -- another stunning time of year to be up there!
Hey, Bryan... it just dawned on me that you're referring to our trip up here in April! Pretty nice that day, too.
Thanks Tom, this was my first attempt at stitching with Arc Soft panorama maker 4 and there are some major errors in this image, I will admit that...but not my fault, it was how the program read the scenes. I have since corrected them with Photoshop and it looks much better...
I will be printing this one 20 x 30 for one of the wall in our home!
and I do plan on getting this same shot in the fall......and summer......and winter.......and spring again!
