Who's ready for fall!?! Here's one from Ohio Pass and the Castle in 2005. It was pretty neat watching the light play across the aspens and the clouds move through the Castle. I even got one on 35mm with what looks like a puff of smoke coming out of a chimney at the castle. (Jody, I bumped into you earlier that day if you remember.) The next morning was nice and clear and showed a fresh coat of snow on the Anthracite Range.
Anyways, let me know what I can do in post-processing to improve this. So far I have just played with some curves, and did a slight desat on blues. I'll probably tone down the yellows a bit. Have at it.
Very SWEEEEEEET! I love the tension in this with the bright colors and storm clouds! very emotional! Leave the Yellows alone, I love yellow! (JK) No I like the saturation I see here already I think it is already well balanced.

Beauty, John! This is awesome, as is. The only thing I might try would be to lighten the castles area of the image. It might serve to draw the eye there a bit more. Maybe something to experiment with a little...

Beautiful work John, the dark skies and eyeing popping aspens are great!
How to improve on perfection? Hmmmm, why mess with it, this rocks!

I'll take this over "nice and clear" any day of the week! This is perhaps the finest shot I've ever seen from Ohio Pass. Way to go, JZ! I also love the shafts of rain dropping down on the left.
Gorgeous, John! I love the depth and separation created by the foreground aspen and conifers - a nice enhancement to the dramatic conditions. Not much to improve upon. A little contrast work might bring out The Castles a little more(?); the yellows look just fine to me.

Beautiful image, the colors look great to me, one of the best images I've seen from this area.

John, you'd have to be nuts to change anything about this. Absolutely awesome!
John, I've looked long and hard and I can't find a single suggestion to improve it. I think the play of light and color is fabulous! You just have to love it when you get to luck out with the weather and get such a shot, but congrats on making the most of it.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. The best part of being there were the breaks in the clouds which highlighted the rain bands on the left and backlit the fg aspens. Rich, not a bad shot from pretty much the same area as my shot.
Thanks for the geography update Darren. Well it did snow on the Anthracite Range (which would be to the right from this shot), but technically I should have referred to the upper ridges of the West Elks which were nicely dusted also (I should have checked the map first, but it was late).

yeh, they have all said it, but this is an awesome shot! I love how the castles pop out from the clouds.
