Since we've been gone for a while, this might have sprung up earlier and we missed it, if so please apologize:
Are there any concerns about this Hewlett Packard "photo competition"/gallery and the somewhat unusual rules attached to it? Can't find much of a problem, except I should (in case they are interested in one of my images)hand over a copyright paper BEFORE any negotiations have been made. (Sg I just can't imagine to do..)
Again, if this already went through NPN before, just give me one short update, thanks!

Georg,
In regards to sending the release form before payment, it is specifically stated that it is only valid for 60 days, after which point HP has agreed on compensation or they have returned the release form. This is the text in the image request that applies as approved by HP;
"Photographers submitting photos agree that if their photo is selected for further evaluation that Hewlett-Packard will require a signed photography copyright assignment form and a high resolution file for printing evaluation. If after evaluation a photo is not used or if terms cannot be agreed upon, HP will return the release form and all rights to the photo within 60 days."
This was orignally run as a "contest" on NPN earlier in the year, and then abandoned after some people had objections. After it was cancelled, the following thread (which is still open) started to discuss the issues raised in greater depth;
The primary difference now is that HP will negotiate compensation with each photographer if their photo is actually used by HP. BTW, this was sent as an "image request" through PhotoPortfolios so if you're not set up on that site you did not get the request for images.
