A most unusual viewpoint that works well especially with that 'milky' sun to balance it. Maybe a reflector would have been helpful to bring a little more light to the underside of the flower?

Hi David
Nice new angle- definitely something different! Our version of the Miami palm trees?
I like the viewpoint but the underside is looking a little dull.
Have you got an on board flash on that SD14? (I can't be bothered to search the net for details on this.)
Regards

Thanks for your comments lads .

I decided against any reflected light as I wanted the underside of the flower to remain slightly ambiguous to match the cloud masked sun.

There is an onboard flash but I very rarely use it as I prefer to use natural light whenever possible. The underside looks a little dull because that what it was like when I took the shot.
