Fresh from the EOS Bakery
Here's a couple from a few hours ago in the Wet Mountains. We had several hours of heavy, heavy rain in Pueblo last night, with lots of thunder and lightning. I heard on the weather that we equalled in one evening all the moisture we'd gotten since January 1st. It was awesome! That prompted a trip to the mountains this morning for some photos. Westcliffe didn't appear to have gotten snow, and it looked like the storms stopped short of hitting the Sangres really hard, but the Wets got quite a bit of moisture-laden snow.

And the runoff was trickling down the mountainsides.

A quick word on the color of the rock in that last one. The rock is really red anyways, and was extra saturated with all the wetness. Adding a polarizer brought out the strong hue even more. And then I slightly tweaked it. I also lightened the water to make it separate from the rock a little better. Mostly, what you see is what was there.

I REALLY Love #1 & #3 and all three are awesome! Inspiring really!

Cool, Todd! I love the water shot. Since you mentioned it, here's a quickie from the storm last night, after i crawled home through all the hail.

Jeepers, Stan! That's one hot bolt of molten death! BTW, do you still work at Outpost HD, or am I thinking of someone else?

Todd,
Your cooking up quite feast from that EOS bakery :toast:

The first one is my favorite. Approximately how far is that from your house? Just curious.

Derek, it's about 35 miles, or half an hour.

Yummy! That first one is quite the appetizer.

Great series, especially like the 1st one. We got about 2-3 inches of really wet slushy snow here last night, if it had been the normal moisture type of snow it would have been in the 12-20 inch range. Late last night and most of the morning today, we have been having power outages and my cable ISP has been down all morning. The last outage 2 hours ago took out my 2nd monitor (a 17" LCD), but my main monitor a 21" CRT is ok. And, yes, I do have an APC brand UPS, but it evidently is not robust enough for both monitors. :frown:

While "Caudle Spire" is sooo tasty, I love the juicy texture of #3. The many little cascades on red rock is too tempting to resist!

Dude, that first one is killer! Looks like a crazy rugged peak. Good thing the EOS bakery was open for business.

Sorry to hear that, Don.

Todd, Cool!
I really like the first one and the rocks! Nice color to the rocks.

Like Don said, we got a share of really wet stuff in Divide/WP. I wish I'd had time to go play this morning but had to head to Cheyenne Mountain. Luckily our power outages didn't claim any equipment ( I think, haven't turned on my computer yet  ).

It was quite the display down south as I drove home last night. Great lightning shot, Stan!

Great images! Really like the first one. Very moody. :toast:

Todd, nice work man! I like those misty shots. The water trickles down the red rock is awsome too! Hmmm, gonna have to head down that way soon to explore.

Great stuff Todd, but I'm not sure that "burning pixels" is the best way to run a bakery!?!

That first one reminds me of Jack's Lone Eagle Peak shot; with very little to lend a sense of scale, it's easy to imagine that the rock is a mountain. That second one is sweet; I love the way that the diagonal line of trees are marching up into the clouds. Looks like a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

Sweet, I love the runoff one!
