Tell me what you folks think of this one, specificly if you have any preferances between this and the vertical I posted on ESS. I think the vertical is the stronger composition but this one might have more dramatic impact.
I opened this is said "Wow". I thought the previous color version would be better but this B/W treatment stunning as well. Then I looked at the vert shot in ESS and really said Wow. That one is definitely more dramatic. Both are great but the Vert is the winner for me.

Amazing, Marc - love how the dark sky borders the top of the mountain..

I like the vertical better. for whatever reason, it feels more dramatic. Maybe because the sky is more a part of the scene than in this one.

I love them both for different reasons, this one focuses more on the mountain itself.

I prefer the vertical, one reason being that I like being able to see the rugged outline of the top of the left peak. I'ld be more than happy to take either of them off your hands though.

I usually hesitate to comment on your work because all I can ever come up with are new ways to say "spectacular". Even though I pursue completely different subject matter, I find the way you work so hard to create your images to be an inspiration. While I work hard at photography, you remind me I can work a whole lot harder.

I really like the way this image almost tricks my eyes into thinking that the clouds around the peak are moving. The first time I experienced this illusion in a photo was with Galen Rowell's classic shot of a storm clearing from El Cap.
Marc, I like being able to see more of the mountain here, but I prefer the vertical because it emphasizes the texture in the snow better.

God, that is beautiful! I love it! I like it better than the vertical because in the vertical i caught myself looking at the trees more than the peak. Where was this taken? It looks like something out of the Chronicals of Narnia movie.

I think you summed it up. Also, with your vertical version, the forground trees were bigger and had more impact.
