Break in the Storm
California's White Mountain range illuminated under stormy skies near sunset from my campsite of 3 weeks, which I had named paradise camp. It may have been the most beautiful place I've ever camped, at 7700 feet, above the Buttermilk hills. This image was captured just as a snow shower was clearing, hence the decreased contrasts in the middleground and beyond.

Very "juicy" shot Mark. Love the feel of this.

Fantastic light and mood. The horizontal layering adds alot to this one, particularly the band of dark trees in the FG.

P.S. I'm seeing a small bright dot about 1/3 of the way in from the right, in the middle.

Sharp eye, Mark. At 100%, it appears to be a building in a distant mine reflecting sunlight. I'll clone it out.

Love the delicate colors and mixed light in this. Always a pleasure to look at your work.

Gorgeous image. It evokes the feeling I had at the campsite in the upper Cathedral Vallley section of Capitol Reef NP (one of my FAVORITE places).
