Hi All
I have not been on the forum lately due to commitments to other work and projects but I did find some time this evening for some nature photography at my favourite local reserve, Clattinger Farm.
The Snake's Head Fritillarys are just coming into their peak, although the dry conditions are not helping.
That's a really fine shot Sean with the light being particularly attractive.
The flower alone would have made for an excellent image but the inclusion of the insect makes it even better.
Love the backdrop of out of focus flowers too.
Welcome back
my only nit is the chopped top two leaves, - I don't know if there was a portrait mode angle possible to get it all in - the insect does add to the comp. and gives sense of scale

also composition works for me, with the fly balancing it out nicely

Good to see you back, I like your composition the fly does add.

This is a great shot. I've never seen these, (I may take a trip down this weekend).
Love the insect.

North Meadow Nature Reserve just north of Cricklade next to the A419 is also very good for these flowers.

I'll give both a go.
