American Bittern
It was a beautiful Wednesday night at Quivira NWR. I saw several American Bitterns, and a couple even posed :). Here is one taken later in the evening. Comments/critiques welcome. 30D, 300mm + 1.4x tcon, full frame.

thanks,Rob

Hi Rob, I really like this pose! The bittern is a bird I've never seen before and looks really interesting. It's colorations fit perfectly into the environment you'be captured here. Nice sidelight and a well executed shot too! Glad you had a great night at Quivera! :wavey:

Rob, I love the S-curve and the dramatic side lighting. Good tight comp but still enough room for good spacing. Very well executed.

Nice work, Rob. What an interesting looking creature! Great light and pose - a really fine shot all around.
