What I saw of the Ouachitas last weekend didn't have the massive die-back that we've had up here in the Ozarks, and for the most part spring was still spring down there.
This waterfall is on Crooked Creek, and I think kayakers call it the launching pad, but I call it Dossey Falls after a high school teacher of mine who was born and raised in nearby Mt. Ida.

Well I can see why they'd call it the launching pad ... and if their not careful that little protrusion in the foreground might be their landing pad!
Nice shot Randy, glad to have you aboard! Looking forward to seeing more!
Glad to see some green and some water - I hope we get a lot of both in the weeks ahead at both ends of the state.
Have you gone digital yet Randy? For those of you who may not know you can view some of Randy's incredible photography on his web site here. Some of the best color nature photos you will ever see...

Randy, I went to your website and while I enjoyed your photos, I was more impressed with the tribute written for Mrs. Creighton. It seems this place (the falls above) represents an important memory in your life.
By the way, Mrs. Creighton would be proud of the way one of her students conveys sentiment through the written word.

It's a darn good thing I don't wear a hat. I wouldn't be able to put it on right now because my head is all big from what Tim and Wayne have said. That's all right, though. I'll mess something up shortly -- I always do -- and that'll take care of the big head.
Tim, I snatched up a Canon 5D as soon as they came out and have been a happy digital shooter ever since. I expect one of these days I'll have to pony up for one of your workshops so I can learn how to do digital right.
Beautiful image, Randy! I really enjoyed seeing and reading about your fine work on your website, and I look forward to seeing more. Thanks for sharing some spring color and water!

Thanks, Bill. You may not remember, but we met at Kettle Hollow back in January. I was the old, fat guy with a black dog. It was good to meet you because I had been admiring your photography for a good while.
So you were the old fat guy huh? Well, I guess that makes two of us old fat guys that day! I started thinking about it after I looked at your website - I knew I had been impressed by seeing your work somewhere before. I'm glad you've enjoyed some of the images I've posted here.
