Emerald Falls
Just a beautiful waterfall up there somewhere in the gorge (what? I can't give away every single spot I find  ) Anyway, I particularly liked the soft light filtered through low clouds here.

5D, 17-40 at 30mm, polarizer, 1/2 second at F13.
Lots of rain. Umbrella. Tripod. No wind.
Lots of fine details killed by compression (62 on save for web).

Thanks for commenting.

Gotta love the new greens this time of year...and the rain, and the lack of wind. Perfect exposure for the water, excellent composition.

Sweet depth and comp.... man, I love that fern trail that leads up the left!

I had to look at this little bit longer to really appreciate it, but longer I looked more I liked it. I think that the falls play second role here, for me the image is more about the forest and "feel" than the waterfall. Great shot.

But we should at least be allowed to guess and I say the creek below elowah and near the freeway. That little grove of clovers and such on the left is equisite, really makes the shot. Almost looks like a little bushwahck trail. Very nice. The soft light up top is great but I feel the very far trees could use more contrast, things look a tad murky to me back there.

Yeah, it was raining pretty hard when I captured this one, but I liked the depth the almost misty look gave it back there. Guess all you want on the location. This isn't McCord creek though.

Marc,
I agree with Tomas here. The water is secondary to the beautiful green framing of it. Its rare to see an interesting stream shot these days (since they are a dime a dozen), but this one is great.

This is definitely my favorite of all of the PNW waterfall/creek scenes I have seen in quite some time.

I enjoy the space within the scene to enjoy the elements. The light towards the back of the valley is wonderful. Great work with the log as well, composing it with the other fallen log further back, while allowing it to be a part of the image but not take away from the creek or obstruct it. Great control of the tree in the upper left corner as well, as it doesn't have any elements to it that draw that eye away from the main subject.

Since I love water and green forests, images like this make me wonder why I live in Colorado. This is stunning Mark. Your choice of shutter speed was right on too.

The light is what makes this one for me, this is just wonderful Marc!

Beautiful work Marc!!! Superb light and a delicious scene to wander one's eyes around and through!! No nits from me!!

Overall, very strong, and yes the light through the trees in the background definitely makes the image. The red tree at the top left sort of bugs me though. Think I'd crop that out if I were you.

FWIW, looks like the little fall on Gorton Creek, about 1/2 way to Gorton Creek Falls to me.

Marc,
It's all been said. Great capture! I do think the greens might be a little too warm. IMHO of course.
