I'm pretty sure this is a Crow as opposed to a Raven? Anyone confirm this?

Graeme,
Great shot, I think it's a Raven by the shape of the tail which is more wedge shaped than that of the crow, also the beak seems more hooked (but hard to tell from this angle) while the crow is relatively straight.
Whatever it is, it's got you in it's sights.

Very well executed Graeme - great comp and spot on exposure, great blacks detail
The bill looks suitably heavy for raven, other biometrics are tricky from the angle and behaviour captured - C. crow tail can look very ravenesque at times and is not a positve id pointer - it trips up lots of local birders wanting to see the rarer raven in Berkshire - taken at Gigrin again? - if so its a great place to see all corvid species together and get your eye in, the size difference between raven and rook etc is not as big as you would think from the bird guides
One thing I learnt recently , raven never ever show pale feathers, but young CC crow can frequently have paler wing feathers or a wing "window". Again not conclusive from this angle, the paleness is from sun glinting
Hi Graeme,
I'll leave the ID to the experts, but whether crow or raven it's a cracking result with a particularly dynamic pose.Superbly caught.

Super action shot of whatever the bird turns out to be.

Great shot - from this angle ID is difficult. If you can recall taking the image a Raven is Buzzard size and from the side view the bill is much heavier than a crow!

Looks fairly raven-esque to me
