Chough
From Knockadoon Head on the south coast of Ireland. Canon 20D 300mm f4 IS, ISO400, 1/2000, F 5.6. Background is a little noisy. C & C welcome.

That slght bg noise would knock down ok with something like noise ninja. I would consider cropping off a little from the RHS to decentralise the composition. Nice to see these great birds staging a recovery. :toast:

Looks like there's a nice hint of sunlight catching the birds wings and that deep blue sky is always going to be a winner.
Very much easier mentioning it rather than actually doing it but ideally I'd prefer the bird quite a bit larger in the frame for a flight shot such as this, and ideally placed more towards the top right third of the frame.
Perhaps you'll get some further oppurtunities when the birds will oblige by coming a little nearer.

Nice image of a difficult bird to expose for. :toast:

Clive, Justin, John,

Thanks for the feedback. I t was very useful, I have checked out 'Noise Ninja' looks like a very useful application. I ran this shot through it. There was a good bit of an improvement. However, this shot is ~25% of the original image So it just lacks the sharpness and pixels. Just have to get back out there.

Thanks MJ

Hi MJ - You`ve managed to get good detail in the dark plumage, which is something I`ve found difficult on flight shots of Choughs taken from below. I`ve managed better results looking down on them from above. Agree on decentralising the bird.
Good to know they are doing well over there; they seem to be increasing here in south-west Wales, too.
