What is the correct position for your monitor? Eye level, perpendicular at 90 degrees? Or tilted back slightly? Stand up and see how the image on the monitor changes. It gets lighter. Get lower and it gets darker. Changing the tilt makes it lighter or darker. It makes a difference how you see the images.

There is the bar with the gradual black to white segments which I use but I can seperate each section at different monitor positions. I try to maintain true black on the left side of the scale.

So how is your monitor sitting before you? I need to know because I am having some doubts.

Thank you for your replies.

I don't know if there's one correct way or not Will, but I have mine slightly lower than eye level and tilted upward so that my eyes come to rest midway on the screen, both vertically and horizontally.

The office ergonomic experts recommend that the top of monitor (not the top of the screen) be at exactly eye level as you sit straight in your chair.

Steve is correct.

We should monitor this closely.

I can go along with the office ergonomic experts. But what about the tilt? Should the monitor be at 90 degrees? Perhaps the answer is whatever looks good to me.

I know Preston is monitoring all this

Thanks all for your response.

It matters little with a CRT if the angle isn't perfect. I don't often use an LCD, and find it irritating how fussily I have to pay attention to the viewing angle when I do. When I do use one, I set it up as I described higher up, and then simply angle the screen so I get the best, brightest view.

I be here! :wavey:

I have to monitor something, Will. They would not let me be a hall monitor in grade school because I always monitored only the girls! Funny how that hasn't changed a bit!

Thanks Steve. I have the monitor exactly where I want it.

And to Preston, I gave The Gilded Moon a screen test and the performance was stellar :toast:

It is always good to see the work at NPN in the best way possible

Thank you
