Howdy All! Well, it's only taken me close to a month to finally post some recent pics! My buddy Jerry and I made an awesome 5 day trip out Utah way, kind of my last little hurrah of a photo trip, at least for a while anyway. You see, my first bundle of joy is due any day now, so it might just be a little bit until the next "big" photo trip!! So far all I have planned is to at least get out for 3-4 days in the fall. Let's keep our fingers crossed!!

Anyway, we had a killer trip, shot photos almost 24/7 it seems!! Came back with a lot of film that I'm pretty happy with. This image qualifies as one of my favorites this time around. It was taken about mid morning, inside the Dry fork slot, not too far off the Hole in the Rock road, in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. We had hiked the nearby Peek-a-Boo and Spooky slots canyons the day before with out all of our serious camera gear, but hiked back down in this day specifically to shoot in the wider, more forgiving Dry Fork slot. So glad we did. I'd been eying every patch of cracked mud I came across so far on the trip, but this one really struck my fancy. I have some other ideas for crops on this one, but here is the full image as seen on the film. Thanks for having a look, and please let me know what you think! I'll post some more images later!

Very interesting image, Brent. Can't wait to see more from Doerzman's 24/7 Utah!

Brent,
I like the color and the transition from smooth to pebbles. I can see some interesting crops. Have fun with this one.

What else ya got?

I really like the rich, warm colors and sharp detail, Brent. I also like it as a veritical crop, working with the vertical transition from rough to smooth textures. Looking forward to seeing more from your trip!

I think the photographer's cracked if all he could do is stare at dried mud.

This is one of my fav's from your trip.

Great shot! I’ve been shooting mud and mud puddles since I was a kid and I’m glad to see someone else likes to look down. It does offer some interesting cropping options.
