The Snow is Coming Down
Yes, for those interested, we are definitely getting white up here in Woodland Park. So far, about 15 inches of a fairly wet snow, not as wet and slushy as the last one, but heavy enough that the snow is compressing with the weight so it is difficult to gauge how much is really falling. I've cleared snow from my decks twice, 2+inches the first time, 6+ inches the 2nd time, and there is another 6-8 inches waiting for me right now. I understand Garden of the Gods has gotten sporadic snow mixed with rain, so if you're planning on some snow shooting, think altitude. :jump:

I haven't left the house all day. But from what I've seen on TV, the roads in WP are slushy, my guess is the slush is thick enough to make for dicey traction if you don't have deep treads on your tires. The plow that came up my street, was having traction problems on the way up! I live on a hill of about 10 degrees, so it does get slippery.

Cabin fever here too Don. Is that an Aberts squirrel? Poor little guy, he definitley does not look like he is having any fun! Nice shot. Wet heavy, snocone snow on this side of the hill.

I ventured out about 3pm to get some gas for the 6-wheeler/plow up here in Divide. The roads were slushy/icy, definately slick. It's 8pm now and still blowing snowing a little. Watch the roads in the morning.

Still, may have to take the long way to work in the morning!

Along the southern part of the Peak-to-Peak, it's been snow, snow, snow! Sitting at the top of Golden Gate Canyon, I am looking at >20" of wet, packed snow right now, with more still coming down.

The foothills around Golden were very interesting - brilliant Spring green up about 750-1000' from the flatlands, then white. Below 9000', the snow was wet and melting quickly around Black Hawk. Serious accumulation was on trees only from 7500'-8500', though I suspect a few inches of the day's snow will stick, in addition to tonight's accumulation; up to 7500' the trees were largely bare, and only a couple of inches were on the ground due to melt-off. Waterfalls in the canyons were flowing heavily. There was water in Mayhem Gulch, which I almost never see.
