Grey Heron, Hosehill Lake
This is an image I took on Sunday when I made one of my all too rare early morning (I am not a morning person! ) excursions to a local nature reserve. This is a crop of about 70% of the original. Comments are as always welcome. The technical details are:
- Camera: Canon EOS 1D Mk IIN
- Lens: Canon 500mm f4 IS + 1.4x
- Aperture: f7.1
- Shutter Speed: 1/640s
- ISO: 400
- Metering: Evaluative
- Exposure Control: Aperture Priority
- Camera Support: Gitzo 1325 + Wimberley Gimbal
- RAW Conversion: RawShooter Premium
- Post Processing: Levels, Curves, Contrast, USM
Very nice indeed.I like the downward wing positions as it shows just how close to the water surface the bird is flying.Like the partial reflection and the composition is excellent.

An attractive action shot and I too like the composition and reflection.
