Last Saturday was a perfectly calm morning on Dalles Mountain road as the storms rolled in.

You have a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Hard work and planning must have something to do with it. Great comp, color (a little too yellow??) and mood...and no wind.
Feels like the English moors, one of my favorite memories....why did all the balsamroots at LLC turn away from you? They look like they're watching the storm....

Eric, those Balsamroots only face one direction in this area - East. Because of almost constant winds from the West and Northwest. I was very lucky to get here on a calm morning!
Mark - yeah. This was my 5th attempt at a sunrise/sunset shot at this location this year.

Wow, I love the dark, moody atmosphere. It compiments the scene very well. Wonderful layereing as well.
Up to your usual par. The sky's colors compliment the lupine well. Weather wise, it was all down hill from that point for saturday in oregon. We were shooting at hug point until the rain and wind were rendering it too difficult to even hold onto an umbrella.

That's when I went to the gorge and captured my "Emerald Falls" image - in the rain. No wind down in the canyons though. I agree it got pretty bad later in the afternoon though. Which was fine, as I was visiting friends in Portland and shooting pool by that time.

Love the depth created by the tree lines. Great mood and color throughout. The violet tones in the sky go well with the foreground lupine.
Marc, I would love to see a print of that. In fact, I could be talked into buying one.

I'll send ya one for half-off. Check out pricing on my website. That's my talking.

Love it bro. The curves and slopes all work for me.

Yea, I like this too. Love the vibrant color of the Lupine. I was out there this Last Saturday and was going to stick around for Sunset but the rain hit. I knew it might rain but sometimes it doesn't make it past the cascades.
