I don't have that lens, so I can't comment from personal experience.
However, I have seen numerous comments from people who felt the 2x significantly degraded the image quality. Those same people were happy with the 1.4x.
Don't know about the 2.0, but I have a 20D and 70-200 4.0L, and have used it with the 1.4x with very good results. Such a nice sharp lens to begin with, so I'd expect the 2.0x to be excellent as well. Only problem is you'll lose auto-focus.

I do have that exact combination and the 2x II tc does not yield very good images when used on the 70-200 f 4L lens. The 1.4x II tc yields some very excellent images, though. I have not yet tried 2 stacked 1.4x tc's on this lens as I have other lenses to cover the resulting focal lengths. Might be worth me spending some time experimenting for other's knowledge. We'll see. :)

I am very, very skeptical a 2x would work well at all. For starters, it would be very dark and hard to focus.

I have this combo and 'ditto' to the other answers - in good, bright light it works with acceptable image quality but degrades quickly in poorer light and manually focusing becomes very tough with the dark viewfinder image.

Also, I believe, you lose AF with that combo ?
I will say that my 70-200 f2.8 is still razor sharp with a 2X.
