Congratulations and much success with your new book, Alain. I glanced at it through the beautiful landscape link and I hope to possess one soon.

I just read the intro and have to admit any book on photography that doesn't get stuck talking about cameras but instead goes into seeing light and composing images catches my interest.
Jerry can be caustic, but, heck, at least he has contributed many topics and several hundred replies. I have no idea if your book would make me master anything, but I would be more receptive to promotions by those who have particpated frequently and thoughtfully at this site over time. That doesn't mean I won't look at your book though.
Pete D. just telling you what I think: mastering my own opinions and so on and so forth etc. and etc.
I wuz just razzing a bit being that I've not been around much lately, so I'll take the caustic reference as a compliment! BTW, sarcastic sounds a bit better!!!
I do think that in the past this type of post was not allowed in this forum and being that it has changed we should've been notified of that change before this post was allowed. But then again, it's not my site.
BTW, I’m always a bit skeptical when a photographer thinks that they’ve mastered the medium. Just look at Fielder’s book on landscape photography, he states that a polarizer is constructed of two pieces of glass that rotate in relation to one another. I still think that he’s a great photographer though!
"I do think that in the past this type of post was not allowed in this forum and being that it has changed we should've been notified of that change before this post was allowed. But then again, it's not my site."
I asked Guy Tal for permission before posting this announcement and Guy asked Jim Erhardt who approved it for posting in the general section of the forum. I would never post a book announcement before making sure it is OK first.
Regarding participation, I have published several essays on this site over the past year, including one this month (May 07). My schedule does not give me as much freedom as I would like to post on the forum itself regularly, but I am trying to post more regularly, as my free time allows.
Regarding the book title, well we all know that you can't judge a book by its cover.
Alain, I checked your website and I think you are as close to mastering landscape photography as one can get. also enjoyed the article on collecting original photographs. (if only more photographers would think that way...)
Good luck with the book. I think to post a book announcement is at least as much a service to NPNers, that there is a new book out there, they might be interested in, as it is self promotion. (which we all do here on the world wide web)

Alain, don't worry about Jerry, seems all his posts now days are a hit out at something or someone. He once stated anyone not using digital now day's were not real photographers.....
I think he likes to try to cause a stir or controversy.
Thank you both. I appreciate your feedback. I just thought it was important to explain things a bit regarding my book and the announcement on this forum.
Keith: I like the quote by Jack Dykinga. Very true.
Heck Keith, I guess you know me better than I know my self It's so funny, you guys take a razzing just too seriously. Maybe you should start wearing boxers, you think? No worries! Anyway, somebody here has to take over for "YO" Hobson being that he doesn't come around anymore. Maybe I'm just missing him or something.

Good point. In fact, in my instance, the book title was chosen by the publisher. My original title was "Photograhy and Aesthetics".
Anyway good luck with the book Alain.
