Had my first ever trip to skomer island last weekend. This shot was taken from the boat just as I was approaching the island. Not sure about the fence at the top - is it enough of a distraction to be worth removing?

cheers
Graham

Graham,

I didn't notice it until you said so can't be that much of a problem, maybe could do with a round of USM though.

Kind Regards
Chris

Hi Graham,
Personally I wouldn't clone the fence out,but what I would do, is crop it out,I feel you've still got just about enough room above the birds to make this work.
Nicely caught image,I remember from previous visits they certainly don't hang around when they're flying past.
Bet the island looked stunning covered in Bluebells.

I hadn't noticed the fence until I read your comments......now it distracts slightly.

The whites are a little hot on my monitor but a good panning shot none the less. :toast:

Hi Graham,

Very good flight shot. As mentioned white's are a bit hot, I would also lose the fence.

Hi Graham,
Nice shot , very difficult to capture in flight , their like little missiles wizzing by , I also agree with losing the fence wether it be clone or crop.

Kind regards

Thanks for all the comments, I've got rid of the fence through a combination of some cloning and a tighter crop and pulled back the highlights a bit. Is this better?

Great capture considering the speed they fly. The repost is definitely the one for me. Well done.

Interesting shot and not easy at all to get. I like the whole setting, including the gate and find the light colour just between and behind the birds more distracting and could easily be toned down a bit.
