Horseshoe Bend
Well...I wasn't too thrilled with shooting this icon, as it's been done to death, but I puckered up to the edge and got my trusty ol 10mm out of the bag and shot this since we were driving by it anyway. I thought the clouds were kinda cool here, and the light in the valley popped nicely too.

The rocks in the bottom center bug me sorta. I wish they didn't cut into the water at all.

Nice one! The clouds really make it. The rocks don't bother me at all.

When this first started scrolling down I thought it a B&W. That's quite a contrast in color between the sky and rock. Nice stuff.

Cool shot Rick. I'm glad you got this one in your portfolio. How far down is the water?

I'd say seven or eight hundred feet.

Love the atmo in this shot. After all these years I still like this place. Nicely done.

I never get tired of this one either. Nice sky you caught there. The comp. looks fine to me.

Looks great, Rick... why didn't you just hop down on that next ledge or something?

lol...I told Mark to clone me onto that bottom ledge  It really felt like I was closer to that edge   OK, I'm a sissy!

Rick, I have never been here but the image you created is very dramatic......well done....

having seen other shot of this exact same viewpoint, I have to ask, is this really the only spot to shoot it from?

Perfect framing, imho. Makes it look like a big ol' meteor impact crater.

Thanks for the comments, ya'll. Darren, there's maybe another close vantage point or two just to the left or right of me...but they were closer to the edge than I cared to get to. I would have but I was too puckered to walk over there

If you shoot from right here you would avoid those rocks.
