CSNP Weekend Moonlight
Here is one of the moonlight shots I got when Wayne & I went out Saturday night at about 10:30pm. You can see some short star trails since it was a 6-minute exposure. (at f8) The focus is not good because I don't have a cable release for my D-200 yet.

Thanks Wayne for getting this thing together! And thanks to all you other guys who helped me get keyed in on so many aspects of nature photography. It was great to meet you and participate. That Boen Gulf hike mapped out at 5.73 miles for what I walked. Whew! I thought I'd never make it. Now I'm ready to go again!

Did anyone find a Lexar 2GB card? I lost one somewhere. Bummer. It had my Boen Gulf images on it.

Thanks again guys! And special thanks to Tim Ernst for getting us into the Smith Creek Preservation area without hiking many miles.

Glenn, pretty good shot considering you had to hold the shutter release for 6 straight minutes! I like the soft but rich colors captured in the moonlight. It was fun to try something outside the norm with you. So glad you could make it. I'm already looking forward to the next get together! :wavey:

That's pretty cool, Glenn - I've never shot anything lit by the moon before and now I think I'll have to try it!

Glenn, if you don't mind I'll go ahead and post my moonlit barn shot too. Thanks for standing in the dark with me .... because I'm usually all alone in the dark!

Both of these night shots are really cool! I'm always amazed at how film and sensors are able to record things that we can't see in the dark. Maybe we'll have to try this on a waterfall next time...nice job guys!

Yep, a waterfall might look pretty cool with a six minute exposure! Real smooth!

Very nice work from both of you. I like the idea of working with moonlight. I've thought about it many times, but I've never taken the idea the distance. I'll certainly be ready to soon.
