Tree in the Rock
Yet another creative title  ...but I couldn't pass up this little tree and another chance to go 10mm. I'd love to here the consensus on this one.

I can't see it hanging in my house, Rick, but I can sure see it as a stock image.

I am dizzy looking at it...

the balance of color between the clouds, sky and foreground are great...

well exposed!

The warm/cool contrast is great. Love the perspective you chose here. I think this also works cropped just above the tree...the loss of sense of scale when doing so is interesting, IMO. Great find.

Works for me, Rick. It's not a real 'wow' shot, but it gets the point across - these trees are tough! Nice processing.

The more I look at this, the more I like it.

Nice perspective. The lone tree is photogenic enough to stand independently in a rather barren stretch in the foreground. The sky serves to compliment; with a particularly nice array of large cumulous; which makes me almost wish there was a wee bit more of it to balance the massive proportion of the frame devoted to the foreground. Regardless, this image is a clever and artistic approach to capturing the uniqueness of the area.

Rick, glad to hear you had a good trip. This is interesting seeing a tree growing in this environment, however the overall image is not doing a whole lot for me.

The tree itself and the lower half of the image in general is popping off the page for me, but something got lost in the land/sky intersect. I think the grad line is too noticeable, and given the sunny lighting, just looks a bit strange. Comp is nice though.

I don't think Rick owns any grads
