This is a small waterfall that I shot at Clifty Falls State Park the other day, the light was coming up from behind it and the light wasn't very dramatic, but I thought it turned out all right and was worth shooting what do you all think?
Bernie, the foreground log is a little distracting, but the overall appeal of the image is really nice. I like the light up top and the color is quite amazing.
I always dislike it when I find and image, and there's a log in the way. This happens to me a lot at Cataract. The water rises, a log floats downs gets trapped in the wrong location.
I actually don't mind the log, but I could do with a bit less foreground. If there wasn't the log up top that "echoed" the line created, I think it would bother me perhaps. Cool waterfall...any idea what type of rock that is?
I know this spot - nice shot Bernie! I think it's good, but I've never been crazy about the log either. I agree with Joel that the other log up top helps....
I'd be tempted to crop this almost square, Bernie, by cropping the foreground to just under the log. Otherwise nice composition. I like the "waterfalls between logs" look.
Thanks for all the comments folks, I agree about the bottom log, but the creeks are pretty choked with them so hopefully we will get a big rain and wash some of them out.

Joel, I think the rock under the falls is shale..
CJ, It is a pretty nice hollow to shoot in.
