There has been a pile of dirt in a nearby prairie/conservancy area for the past couple of years. The prairie had a prescribed burn about ten days ago. Actually, this area is about 200 meters out my backdoor, and while driving by on Sunday, I first noticed the fox pups. The vixen seems to have taken over a woodchuck or badger den.
Today, I went out w/ my digital and MF cameras. The pups were surprisingly accepting of people within about 50' of them, even with traffic whizzing past. I hope to get back out again w/ the cameras, and hope that my MF images turned out well...
Tim, the comp. doesn't do a lot for me in this image, but the subject sure is a wonderful find, and the poses are very cute. I'd be spending as much time as possible trying to get images of these pups.
I always wished I would find a fox den, but I've never been so lucky.
