I bought CS3 Premium through Academic Super Stores. Since Ellen is in a accredited school I can get software "for her" for quite a deal. I paid $583. With Academic software you can't upgrade, you always have to buy a new version. Since I also use it for the Coffee Co. getting Illustrator and inDesign is important to me.
I paid for an upgrade and am now running both CS2 & CS3 on my Dell. I am going to copy my Plugins folder from CS2 to CS3 and see how lucky I get....or not.....!!
Rick,
I copied everything from CS2 to CS3 (plugins, actions, tools setups etc.) Copying the plugins worked as you said. The big issue was getting the CS3 Beta uninstalled such that it doesn't hose CS3 when installed. This is the large issue with CS3...
Mark,
Not sure its wise to state you bought CS3 as an Academic license for Ellen then comment in the same paragraph "Since I also use it for the Coffee Co ..." That would be a direct license violation which some SW companies take very seriously. They give academic licenses fairly cheaply to allow students to have access, but I don't think they allow you to use it to make a profit.
Phil, True, although I'm sure Adobe has bigger fish to fry, or at least, I hope so. But even further, they know full well that that Ellen is in the 3rd grade....
