Just joined NPN. Tim Ernst sent me.

Here is one from AR from last fall from the Buffalo river area.

Looking forward to your next outing, hope we can make it.

Hi Larry, and welcome! :wavey: We're glad Tim thinks enough about us to recommend that you join us at CSNP!

I really like this shot, tons to look at and the sycamore(?) tree fronting the vibrant fall colors makes for a nice composition. Everyone was really excited with how our spring gathering went last weekend, so it's anybody's guess if we will try to get together for a fall shoot. If you can promise me color like this, it might just be arranged!

Glad you decided to join us, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work! :wavey:

Glad you made it Larry! You won't find this place as active as the Cafe, but there are just as many characters (as a percentage of membership). For anyone who gets lucky enough to go on a shoot with Larry, note that not only does he have just about every lens and accesesory that Nikon ever made (including lot of big glass), but he also travels with at least a full case of Starbucks MOCHA, something I find a dedicated nature photographer can't live without. And oh yes - this is especially for Dominic - Larry has THREE Nikon 70-180 mircos!

Welcome, Larry - hope you can join us on our next outing (especially if you're bringing Mocha!). I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Welcome Larry, great shot, I think I know where that tree is?

Thanks everyone for the welcome. Mocha is the drink of choice, usually bring enough to get me through the event. :jump:

Yes, the tree is close to the Elk viewing parking area.

I suppose you all know that Tim may exaggerate from time to time. I do not have "lots of big glass". At least not nearly enough. I do have three 70-180s, good thing too as I think my DW is going to claim one of them.

Larry - anytime you can't carry your big glass all at once (and have to hire a sherpa) you have a lot of big glass! You've got the 600 and 200-400, and also the 500 as well, right? For anyone who owns NIKON equipment you are a instantly a great friend to have on any trip (plus the mocha)!

Larry - I see you're from Springfield... Have we ever met? I see a lot of folks in the SWMCC meetings, but I can't remember if you were one of them. (And if not - why not?!)

Tim E., no 500mm, sorry. Correct on the other two, plus the 1.4, 1.7 and 2x TCs.

Tim B., I attended one SWMCC meeting about a year ago. Just hard for me to get into going to meetings I guess. We can meet sometime if you like, maybe at a Starbucks? :jump:

Thanks Bill,
Still learning. TimE may be getting tired of trying to learn me sumthin.

He says my wife is the one with talent. She does have a better eye.

I will work at getting some photos up, soon as I get CS3 Ps set up for her on another computer and a few other chores. I do have one up in the Avian critiques section. Opinions and comments invited.
