Baron Yo Samedi
Hi,

I'd just like to introduce myself -I'm Art and share an image I just got done converting to black and white last night. The image consists of two exposures blended together, one exposure is taken for the bright sky and the other exposure point was taken off the bottom cliffs.

I am from and live in Colorado, so I hope the RMNP forum doesn't mind an image from another region, but this is my last image worked on.

This is Bridal Veil Falls enshrouded in fog during a December Clearing Storm. I titled it "Baron Yo Samedi", named after the vodooo lord who dresses in a black tuxedo and white top hat with a white skull for a face. The title plays on the park's name.

I enrolled a few days ago and look forward to learning and contributing to the photographic community here. I want to go to Zion and Zebra Canyon next so more regional photos coming up!

Let me know what you think and thanks for dropping in.

This is a really nice conversion Art. I always like to see Yosemite images and have posted from my travels more than once.

Really nice Art! I love the cloud sandwich with the illuminated peak in between. Nice contrast too.

Spectacular image! The little bit of cliff in the bottom-middle looks kinda weird, like it shouldn't be there or something. At first I thought it was a smudge amongst the trees. Still, this is killer.

Welcome, Art. Very nice blend. I like the mood.
Usually they don't banish you for a Yosemite post.

Art, great photo and conversion! I've posted some photos from a trip to Hawaii, so I think you're safe.

As great as this image is, I'd like to see the FG trees and cliff edge lightened and increased in contrast to make them look lit a bit more. I would guess they were in shadow and there's nothing naturally you can do about it, but if you could pull it off, this would go WAY over the top IMO. I'm definitely looking to see more of your posts.

Awesome shot, Art, i would just echo Todd's comments about the cliff.

Everyone thanks for the comments I will implement these suggestions in Photoshop and see what shakes loose, I really appreciate the critiques.

Wow - that's a stunner. Really. Outstanding work on the conversion. The cliff doen't bother me at all; in fact, there's little here that I would try to change. I might experiment with levels to brighten up the snow on the foreground trees just a little bit, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing.

This is one of the more stunning shots that I have seen in a while. Personally, I like the cliff on the bottom. A little bit lighter would make it look more natural. Regardless, this is a really nice image.
