1st Pics Canon 300mm f/2.8IS - Goldfinch
This is one of my 1st pics with my new Canon 300mm f/2.8L IS, I must say I missed the Nikon 300mm f/2.8VR when I sold it, 1st impressions this lens is brilliant with TC's (extenders) 1.4x and 2.0x I have not seen any noticeable reduction in sharpness with the TC's attached. :smile:

Canon 30D
Canon 300mm f/2.8L IS + 2.0x Extender
Focal length 600 mm
Exposure 1/250 at f/5.6 (wide open)
+1/3 EV
Aperture priority
ISO 200
PP = Small Crop only.

Cheers

Hiya Nick,
Can't understand why you miss the nikon 300mm :wink: This canon effort looks OK I suppose :biggrin: Rumour has it it's only a few weeks to go before the 1D Mark 111 arrives, exciting times.
Nice test shot.

Hi Tim, This 300mm is amazing even in low light or shaded shots, I am amazed at the IQ and Detail I get with the lens, if my dealer is correct I should have the 1D MKIII by the end of next week. That will be the cash from my Nikon sale used up.

Cheers

Nick
