CONGRATS to Master Dark for his cover photo (and inside spread) in the new "Ozarks Magazine" - May edition. It is that great comumbine photo he posted here last year with the single drop of water on the lower tip - one of the best wildflower photos I've ever seen. I'm proud to say that like to many of the rest of you he has been to one of my workshops! Keep up the great work Bill, but wouldn't you please move to Alaska or someplace else? (you're making me nervous)

Thanks guys! I am pretty thrilled to see one of my images on the cover of a magazine (and even more thrilled to get paid for it). Even though Ozarks is a small circulation regional magazine, it is fairly high quality and has some good reading.

Tim - if I moved to Alaska (which is a pretty nice thought, actually, considering the growth in this area) I wouldn't be able to take any more of your workshops. And, I probably wouldn't find nearly as much money or tools along the highway either...

Congratulations Bill, great news!! That shot deserved to be seen by thousands of people, it was a beaut! :toast: Any possibility I could get a copy, autographed of course?

Tim, it seems like your students learn a thing or two about nature photography by being around you ... got an extra bed in the cabin?

Yup, this particular shot, as well as a lot of the better wildflowers images I see here, have that "Ernst" background to it, but who is counting. You don't need any more workshops Bill, although I hear they are looking for a good wildflower photographer in Colorado!

It is great to see such great reproduction quality in a small magazine like this one. I would much rather have my stuff displayed this way than in a larger publication any day - it's not always about the money, although often times smaller mags pay more than the big boys do as well. As an example, I had a large spread in a national magazine a few years ago where every single one of the images was 2-3 stops overexposed in the mag - the entire spread looked just terrible and I was embarrased to have my name attached. That same month I had some of those same images published in both Outdoor Photographer and Outside magazines, and while neither of those mags paid as much as the first one the images looked so much better I didn't care.

Speaking of autographed magazines Wayne, I never did get a copy of your big spread that you brought down - any chance you have one left that you could mail me? (I also need to pay you for my dinner that night too!)

Sure Tim, consider it done. My wife and I are going to be in Branson Tuesday - Thursday and I've been dropping hints that we ought to go down to Boxley one day/afternoon (whatever I can get) so she can see the place in person. I'm not sure I've won her over yet but if we do make it down I may deliver it in person.

As far as the dinner, I don't think there is one person that attended that would let you pay for dinner after all the inspiration and assistance you have given us. Consider it thanks from the group at CSNP! :wavey:

Wayne - How 'bout a trade? I didn't get an autographed copy of the magazine that you were featured in either - saw them on the coffe table but thought they were spoken for. I have an Ozarks copy with your name on it, but don't have your address. I've got a few more copies if anyone wants one - just email your address to me.
