Since there is this call for photos, here is what the park looked like this morning. This is a composite of 7 images and the blue cast was actually there so I wasn't sure if I should remove it or not. Also, those are not footprints on the bottom left. You can see a few more images from this morning at the following links.

Erik, nice comp! Personally, the blue cast doesn't bother me. Thanks for sharing.

These are all sweet, Erik! Looks like quite the winter wonderland. I was going to call you on Wednesday to see if you wanted to shoot today, and then the weather reports had me thinking it would be less than compelling conditions. That'll teach me...

That first one you linked to is a stunner. I'd opt for knocking off a little sky just to get it to a 4x5 ratio and put more attention on the peak and water, then I'd print it really BIG.

Beautiful. (And I'm stuck running a garage sale this morning).

I really like that Hallet image. It just screams, "Mountain Weather".

Yup, that Hallett image is awesome! They're all wondrous. This is why I could never open a shop in a town like this. Customers would constantly be pissed off at me for not making it to the store to open, because I'd be out chasing weather!

 Very cool. Who would have thought it would have been so great up there this morning?

Tony, unless your initials are TC, I think it is nearly impossible to predict what the phootographic conditions will be on a given morning. I certainly miss it the majority of the time.

I'm still processing images from this morning. This is another composite, this time of six images. It is Glacier Creek near Hollowell Park. http://morninglight.us/forum/07/0505e.jpg

I really like the Hallet peak shot. The others seem to me that black and white might be the better presentation option. They are so close to monotone already, but there is alot of tonal range to them.

What Mel said.

Two thumbs up on the Hallet shot, snow storms make me feel alive!

I'm a bit of a beginner in some of the more advanced techniques, but what does it mean to composite 7 images. How is this different from stitching 7 images? If it is different, does it also help with increased ability to print at XL sizes? Thanks in advance for your help on this.

Hey Nate, this is simply a stitched image as you thought. Having so many images gives me a greater number of pixels to work with and hence gives more detail in larger prints. Hope this helps.

Thanks. What software do you use for your stitching.... it is some of the best I have seen!

Nate, I use AutoPano Pro. autopano.net I love it. It really does a good job, especially when I use it with linear developed tiffs.
